Seasonal Hospitality Team Member - YHA helvellyn

YHA Helvellyn are looking to recruit a Seasonal Team Member for 25 - 4.25 hours per week throughout the months of March to October 2023.  While we would ideally like someone for the whole season, we would consider a shorter term.

YHA Helvellyn is close to Ullswater and the Lake District village of Glenridding, and  located 963 feet above sea level at the foot of England's third highest mountain.  For anyone who enjoys the outdoors, there are at least eight summits to reach from the hostel door plus a huge range of opportunities for running, mountain biking and scrambling.  It welcomes mainly like-minded guests, who come for is fantastic setting and the warm welcome offered by its staff. Despite its isolated setting, it is easy to access by rail and bus and is half an hour from the M6.

  • We pay £9.50 per hour - rising to £10.42 from 1st March 2023 for between 25 - 42.5 hours per week.

What will you be doing as a Seasonal Team Member?

working on reception, providing information about the hostel and local area
carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties
preparing food in the kitchen
serving food and drinks front of house

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Seasonal Team Member?

We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements.It’s an advantage but not essential that our team members have experience volunteering or working with other people.

Duties vary so good communication skills and basic IT skills are advantageous. Excellent time keeping is essential.
