General Manager – Waterloo Arms, Waterloo Station

At SSP UK we are recruiting a talented and experienced General Manager to lead the team at our exciting new bar being opened in conjunction with BrewDog at Waterloo Station.

We are the leading operator of restaurants, bars, cafes and food courts in travel locations. Established for more than 60 years, our operations feature a mix of food and beverage brands tailored specifically for each location. You will be joining a world-leading food service organisation with superb learning, development and progression opportunities, operating over 450 stores in the UK alone. 

BrewDog have one mission - they want to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they are. In this role you’ll be leading from the front – you’ll be the benchmark for customer service, leading by example & training others to give the best customer experience of all time.

This is a high profile role and we are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of craft beer for this role would be desirable, but a willingness to learn if you don’t is essential.
  • Experience in a General Manager position within a similar environment 
  • Excellent commercial awareness with planning and analytical skills and ability to analyse reports, data and P&L to identify areas of improvement and innovation
  • Strong people management and leaderships skills to build, lead, motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and relationships at all levels and influence peers and senior management
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage many tasks concurrently and often under pressure
  • Ability to deal with change constructively and devise and implement new systems of work to meet business needs
