The Old Friar is a free house set in the beautiful countryside village of Twywell. They offer a seasonal menu for lunchtime and evening. They strive to source the freshest, tastiest produce and their well renowned carvery has always been a popular option.
An excellent opportunity has arisen at The Old Friar for a keen apprentice to join the busy kitchen team, learnt he trade and work towards gaining a Level 2 Commis Chef Qualification.
Duties to include:
- Food preparation for starters, mains and desserts using fresh local ingredients
- Plating up dishes
- understanding different methods of preparation and cooking and building up a recipe log of evidence
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment at all times adhering to food safety
- Learning about stock control and rotation

None, however, Maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.

Working Week

30 hrs (2 days off, 2 1/2 days, 3 days of split shifts) earliest start 10.30am latest finish 11.00pm

Things to consider

We are in the village of Twywell, consider how you will get to and from work. On a Friday/Saturday/Sunday you will do split shifts which means going home and returning for the later shift on the same day.
