The Peak Edge Hotel is an independently owned luxury boutique 4-star hotel with 27 bedrooms located on the outskirts of Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

The hotel offers an outstanding dining experience in our 2-rosette award winning Red Lion restaurant.

We use the finest cuts of meat and quality produce which arrive directly from our owner’s farm on the outskirts of Chesterfield.

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a professional, motivational and enthusiastic Head Chef to join our well-established family orientated team.

Currently undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment project you will be leading a team in a brand-new kitchen.  You will also be designing and developing our top-class menus and working closely with our passionate and entrepreneurial owner to deliver outstanding food to our guests and residents.

Purpose:

To coordinate activities and direct the training of chefs and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking food in order to ensure an efficient and profitable food service by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Continually ensuring the highest quality of meals reflective of a 2 AA rosette restaurant. You will be responsible for the kitchen budget and be responsible for the timely and economical purchase of food and supplies based on knowledge of distributor, vendor, and product.

Requirements:

We are looking for a Head Chef with an abundance of experience working in hotel kitchens. We need someone who is keen to lead and take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of high standards of cuisine within our 2-rosette restaurant delivering private dining and weddings to ultimately create fantastic memories for our guests.You must be passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality to our guests whilst demonstrating outstanding food knowledge.Having the ability to establish rapport, lead a team and deliver high standards of service with a genuine and approachable manner is essential.To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

A minimum of 3 years of previous experience

Strong coaching skills

Ability and desire to motivate a team and maintain a positive and motivational attitude

Excellent communication skills

NVQ Level 3 preferred

Food Hygiene Certificate

Strong leadership experience

Ability to work under pressure

Salary and Benefits

£32,000 to £37,000 per annum
