Your day to day

So, this is what the role is all about.  We are looking for a Senior Cluster Groups, Events & Reservation’s Manager to support our cluster sales teams to success. As our Senior Cluster Groups, Events & Reservation’s Manager, you will:

• Lead and manage the , Reservations Groups, Meetings & Events team from recruitment and induction, managing workload & resource distribution, through to training, development plans and reviews.
• Take responsibility for achieving financial targets, forecasting monthly revenue and reporting on month end performance.
• As a key part of the commercial team, you’ll be collaborating with other departments to agree & implement strategies, drive results and ensure brand alignment, keeping IHG Leased hotels one step ahead of the market.
• Ensure the Glasgow properties client journey is at the centre of what we do, from site inspections to enquiries, contracting to follow ups, and work closely with the Operations team to enable us to deliver the best possible guest experience on the day.
• Ensure up to date selling guidelines are in place & manage the Group, Meeting & Events offering to enable the reactive sales team to optimise conversion and maximise revenues.
• Maintain an excellent level of knowledge of the local marketplace in each location.
• Work closely with the wider UK & European sales team to adapt and improve internal procedures, including ensuring our systems are fully configured and hold accurate data & reports, enabling your team to operate efficiently while following and buying into key processes.
• Ensure our client material – think proposals, contracts, menus, promotions, brochures, web pages – is up to date and on-brand.
• Get stuck in with everything you’d expect your team to and be ready to react to any curve balls that come your way – from client proposals to admin tasks, we’re an ‘All hands on deck’ team.

What we need from you

Our properties are well established, and we are looking for a well-rounded Senior Cluster Groups, Events & Reservation’s Manager. Given the scope of the role, we’re looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience in the industry, including having led a team. You'll be naturally confident, highly driven, have a focused and ambitious nature & be creative with a sense of adventure. You will have a proven track record of developing and winning new business and significantly growing existing customers, and a strong understanding of the Glasgow Groups market. You will have strong influencing skills and a proven record of achieving success through others & developing highly productive relationships with off site colleagues.

The ideal candidate will also previously have worked within the hotel/hospitality sector within a 4/5* environment and it is desirable that you have an understanding of Opera and Sales Force, and that you are familiar with the local market, and have knowledge of all key segments i.e., Groups, corporate, conference and Luxury leisure is crucial.
