Your day to day

This role plays a key part in supporting IHG’s Growth agenda in Europe, acting as the Finance business partner to our Development team. The Senior Manager will primarily work on feasibility and deal valuation for new projects across all markets and brands, with a focus on Management Contracts for Upscale and Luxury brands.  A collaborative team player, the Senior Manager will work with a pool of Analysts to deliver high quality output, leveraging support from functional specialists throughout the business

Feasibility

  • Produce market studies, feasibilities and projections for complex, strategic and portfolio deals, working closely with Development, Design and Engineering, Operations and Commercial to deliver well researched and compelling supporting materials to justify projections
  • Represent IHG’s view on positioning, financials in pitches and owner meetings

Deal Valuation

  • Model complex deal structures to evaluate value for IHG; support Developers in negotiating terms

Approval Process

  • Manage the Europe Development Approval Committee process, ensuring all papers are submitted in a timely manner and with the required documentation
  • Produce structured, well written approval papers for complex and strategic deals

Coaching & Mentoring

  • Provide support and project review to all feasibilities produced by Analysts, challenging assumptions and projections
  • Provide coaching to Analysts on feasibility and deal valuation methods and techniques

Strategic Projects

  • Conduct analysis to support other strategic projects and IHG’s development in Europe
  • Work with other functions to provide financial analysis for innovation projects

Industry Network

  • Develop and maintain industry relationships with consultants, real estate developers, and counterparts at competing hotel operators.

What we need from you

Educational Attainment

  • Hotel School or Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Finance or relevant subject 

Critical Expertise & Experience

  • Significant experience in hotel feasibility and valuation across all segments and markets in Europe
  • Experience within hotel brand/ owner feasibility or asset management team or hotel brokerage/ consultancy highly valued
  • Excellent written and spoken English; other European language beneficial
  • Analytical and numerical approach; ability to communicate financial terms to non-finance stakeholders
  • High level of proficiency with complex Excel modelling, as well as crafting and delivering compelling and professional presentation and papers

 Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Expert in industry metrics and hotel P&Ls; understanding of hotel ownership and business models
  • Detailed knowledge of financial valuation methodology (DCF)

Whilst this role may initially be based in our Denham head office location, by September 2022 we will be relocating to our new Global Headquarters in central Windsor, so you will need to be able to travel to Windsor as required in the longer term.
