Pastry Chef

Bovingdons is one of London’s oldest and largest award winning independent caterers. We operate as the exclusive events caterer at 9 prestigious venues and are on the approved list at 20-plus venues across London; in addition we manage 10 café sites including our high street Flotsam and Jetsam brand. Our event catering operations are soon to be based from our brand new, state of the art central production unit based in Riverside Road, SW17, with satellite kitchens across our venues and cafés.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate chef with significant experience in pastry and event catering to join our dynamic, friendly and committed central kitchen team. In our rapidly growing business there is significant opportunity to progress in your career with us and take on greater responsibility.

As Pastry Chef you would be a core part of our central kitchen and events team. Your main responsibilities would be:

  • Pastry preparation in our central kitchen
  • Food production at events
  • Input into the design of our new menus and continual innovation of our offering
  • Receive product verifying invoices and quality of merchandise
  • Assist in training employees to company standards and managing casual kitchen staff
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and to a high standard
  • Help ensure the appropriate health and safety standards and food hygiene practices are followed

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on pastry chef with passion and enthusiasm for high quality, exciting food, a real team player who is happy working on everything from simple conferences to the most gourmet five course meals. We are thoroughly proud of all that goes out of our kitchen, and it’s no wonder our clients rave about our food.

Must-have qualifications

  • 4 or more years' experience of working as a Pastry Chef
  • 2 or more years' experience working in events/hotel banqueting
  • Trained in appropriate food safety and health and safety courses (including L2 or ideally L3 Food safety, etc.)
