We have an opportunity for an apprentice to join the busy kitchen at The Market Lounge working under the supervision of the Head Chef, learning the trade and working towards gaining a Level 2 Production Chef Qualification.

The Market Lounge is an award winning, family friendly Cafe Bar situated in the heart of Witham St. Hughs. They offer a relaxed and informal atmosphere with a warm welcome, The Market Lounge is the perfect place to experience a tasty homemade breakfast, lunch or evening meal.
They have a fantastic opportunity for a keen chef apprentice to join their busy kitchen team and learn the trade alongside working towards a Level 2 Production Chef Qualification.
Duties will include:
• Ingredient preparation
• Cooking meals through various different cooking methods
• Plating up and presentation of food
• Taking instruction from senior chefs
• Cleaning and clearing down work stations
• Working in a safe manner at all times
• Portion control

Qualifications Required

None required, however, Maths & English will be assessed as part of the interview process.

Future Prospects

As the right candidate develops and becomes a competent Chef there are then opportunities for progression within the business.

Other Information

Wages will be discussed at interview and will be paid at the apprenticeship wage and reviewed throughout the duration of the apprenticeship

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Food Production Chef Apprenticeship.
Maths and English if required.

Things to consider

There is a set shift pattern which include weekdays, evenings and weekends however, the individual must also be flexible to suit the business needs.
