Run a Stonegate Pub - Dolphin Oldland Common Bristol, Gloucestershire

About the Pub

The Dolphin is a brilliant example of a busy community pub which is situated in a prominent position on the main road through Oldland Common. On entrance to the pub you are greeted by the bar servery, which runs along the back wall and around to the right to service the side bar. There is a fireplace at each end and flat screen televisions mounted to the walls. Traditional loose wooden furniture is accompanied by fixed seating in the bay windows. There is plenty of room for regular live music and the pub has a reputation as a popular karaoke spot. The additional side bar is geared towards pub games, with a pool table and dart board as well as a projector for live sports; this area can accommodate approximately 66 covers. There is a large catering kitchen present, but it is not currently being utilised. With some modernisation a food offer could be introduced to provide an additional revenue stream. The private accommodation is a good size and comprises of three bedrooms, a lounge and kitchen. Externally, the pub benefits from off-road parking to the front and right-hand side of the property with space for around 25 vehicles. To the rear of the property there is a fantastic, covered patio with seating for approximately 32 covers. and TV screens. In addition to this the pub also boasts a very generous garden with ten picnic tables. Stonegate Pub Partners are now seeking a community minded publican who can continue and grow the established trade through a small food offer.

Regional Manager's Thoughts

This is a good, strongly supported community locals’ pub, with lots going on in the way of sports, games, and live music. At present there is no food offer however this business has the potential to add a small food operation aimed at the local area with a pizza oven, burgers, pub classics, summer BBQ’s/hog roasts or pop ups. I am looking for someone who wishes to continue and grow a pub that is at the heart of the local community, keeping the goodwill of the outgoing publicans.
