Chef de Partie Apprentice

Responsible to: Head Chef, Sous Chef, Company Directors, and Front of House Management.
Responsible for: Commis Chef, Trainee chefs, work placement chefs

Assisting the senior chefs with the completion of orders, menu writing and food costing’s staff rotas, as well as maintaining the standards of food hygiene at all times and overseeing service to ensure a high standard of food is being prepared. Principal Responsibilities:

Preparing food as required.

Ensuring kitchen areas and equipment are maintained to the highest possible standards of cleanliness and safety.

Under the supervision of Senior Chefs, maintaining systems regarding quality, stock control, portion control and minimizing wastage.

Ensuring food deliveries are handled and stored correctly.

Working alongside all members of the Kitchen Team to ensure standards and good working relationships are maintained.

Closing the kitchen area properly when on shift, including storing food correctly, cleaning surfaces and leaving adequate provision for chefs the following service.

Compliance with all hygiene, health and safety regulations relating to food and catering establishments.

Attend internal and/or external training courses when applicable and complete in-house on job training to promote personal development and meet the requirements of the post.

Complies with hygiene, health and safety regulations at all times.

Proven ability to deliver a high standard of food service.

Ability to work as part of a team.

General knowledge of Health and Safety.

You are jointly responsible for the security of the site; doors should be closed when leaving the premises and not left open. This will help guarantee your and others safety whilst at work.

Key holders are responsible for the keys and the costs of replacing locks and keys if lost. If you are a key holder you are not entitled to come onto the premises outside of normal hours unless you have prior permission by the Company Directors, General Manager or Head Chef. If you are the first person to return to the premises and deactivate the alarm it is paramount that you always lock the front door, breaching this will lead to disciplinary action occurring.

Due to the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
