Stonegate Group are the largest Pub, Bar and Club operator in the UK. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join us in Lancaster.

A little about the business….

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage this great local pub with one of the finest beer gardens, located in the heart of the city of Lancaster. The Pendle Witch has a good level of trade for both food and drink and attracts locals, shoppers, workers and has also has an extremely strong student following.

The Pendle Witch is a one room operation which is set up to provide individual drinking, dining and sport zones if required. There is a good-sized bar area, and the site benefits from a large beer garden to the rear which is very popular over the summer months.

There are many activities in place throughout the week with a very popular Thursday Quiz, however there are further opportunities to bring your own stamp to this and grow areas of the business.

The pub has SKY/BT sport with multiple TV’s and a pool table, both of which have a good following. The pub has a strong student following and connections with societies and the University.

Quality products make up the well-stocked bar and it would be an advantage to have sound experience of Cask and Craft beers and Ciders to build on this premium trade.

The successful General Manager should be a confident sales driver who is willing to lead by example and motivate a team to help build every area of the business. An extensive food knowledge background would be an advantage as the site has a great reputation and a strong local following for food throughout the week and on key occasions.

This is a community city centre site, therefore the General Manager must keep this in mind to maximise the trade using all the local influences available and by maximising the sport, student, local businesses and weekend evenings ensuring The Pendle Witch is the local pub of choice in the city.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial General Manager who is willing to successfully implement new ideas to the business by strengthening the weekly activities to ensure there is always a reason to visit. You will need the entrepreneurial flare to maximise the lucrative student market whilst also making the ever-present locals feel welcome too. You will also need to have a desire for excellent customer service, high standards, fantastic food delivery and the ability to deliver exceptional sports and entertainment.

Overall, you will have a passion for delivering an amazing customer experience and maintaining the current strong reputation at The Pendle Witch.
