The restrictions are due to be lifted in less than two weeks, however vital decisions being made this week could see the long-awaited release date of June 21st extended. As the industry counts down the days, the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) has proactively launched a dedicated campaign, Countdown to Freedom, urging Government to remove all restrictions in pubs and the wider hospitality industry, in accordance with the planned roadmap.

Having just launched Countdown to Freedom a week ago, we caught up with Emma McClarkin, Chief Executive Officer – BBPA, for our latest episode of Behind the Mask of a Hospitality Leader.

We talked to Emma about current operations within British pubs, what current restrictions mean and how we will bounce back when we finally see a proper lift. We also talked about what is required from the Government in order to support hospitality further now, and in the future.

Emma is very much working to an agenda and purpose for hospitality. BBPA is making moves for the pubs and breweries of the UK. With them fighting our cause, the industry should be confident of its future.
