A leader - The person who leads or commands a group, organisation, or country.

This week the UK enters a new Covid-19 tier system, which means 98% of hospitality businesses will be placed in tier 2 or 3*.

As with the majority of 2020, our industry has had to adapt to new restrictions at very short notice, changing entire operations sometimes in a matter of days.

Yesterday we spoke to James Nye, Managing Director – Anglian Country Inns, for the latest episode of Behind the Mask of a Hospitality Leader, we feel extremely frustrated for him, his team, and others in his position.

Above and beyond is the only way we can describe the measures being put in place by these venues to keep the public safe. Investment, training and communication are just some factors that are being repeatedly considered every time the government implement a change.

However, the biggest pain point of all is due to the industry providing a safe environment only to be scapegoated, especially during December – a key time for hospitality.

We at HJUK are backing the UK Hospitality campaign to contact local MPs informing them of the disastrous impact these new restrictions will have on their business.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! Drop Nick an email to discuss or even be featured in one of our episodes – nick@hospitalityjobsuk.com.
